Bailey with owner Natasha and young Lincoln

“Bailey is a 9 year old golden retriever who has been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis at 5 years old, to start with his condition was barely noticeable but by the time he was 8yrs old Bailey struggled to walk, couldn't stand after long periods of resting and was in so much pain, the vet gave Bailey weekly steroids and pain relief was needed daily. Fortunately our vet was forward thinking and suggested hydrotherapy sessions may help him, we took him to another hydrotherapy pool but he never seemed to improve, so we stopped.

When Trisha and Adam opened their pool and asked us if we wanted to try them I have to say I was sceptical as to whether it would work.... I was WRONG! They are totally different, with love and attention and a little by little approach they have won Bailey over, he cannot wait to get to his swim and after only a few months is jumping around like a puppy, never has trouble standing from a rest, jumps in to the car, up at the vet and runs up hill like a young dog! he never needs pain relief and is down to a six monthly steroid jab to which the vet has said he will be able to stop soon....

I am so grateful to The Dog Studio they have given Bailey a new lease of life, I regularly recommend them and will always do so.... thank you!!”

play time

When Bailey came to us he had given up on life he was very depressed.  Hydrotherapy is by far the best treatment for dogs like Bailey but it is not just a case of putting them in a pool and hoping for the best, we have been training dogs for water rescue for many years and it is these skills we use to get the best out of dogs like Bailey.

It is very important to us that all the dogs enjoy their visits to us and we do all we can to ensure this happens.

Bailey can't wait for his pool time and as Natasha says he is like a puppy again and enjoys life to the full.....

Well done Bailey!!
